More than ever — A rally cry

The Safer World For All campaign is spearheaded by Micah Australia, along with ACFID. Churches, Christian organisations and individuals around Australia have joined the rally cry. As global crises deepen, we've been calling on the Australian Government to commit its fair share in international aid.

Global crises – climate change, conflict, cost of living, – continue to interact and exacerbate one another. The brunt of impacts falls upon those who live in poverty. These crises continue to widen the gulf between those wealthy and those impoverished.

The Safer World for All campaign has been calling on the Australian Government to commit 1% of its federal budget to Australian Aid.

Is. If 1% is given to Australian Aid, the remaining 99% negates the need to designate who’s first looked after. We can look after our own and our fellow, global humanity simultaneously.

In 2022, I wrote this spoken word piece - ‘A Safer World for All’.

2026—heartbreakingly, devastatingly, I have only seen crises deepen. War has torn through the Middle East, exploding the numbers of those who are impoverished. War, climate change and cost of living have only risen. The gulf between those wealthy and those living in poverty has only widened.

More than ever, we must raise our voices for A Safer World For All. We must call the government to account regarding its fair share of a safer world for all

Next week I'll be representing CBM as I travel to Canberra. I’ll be joining 20 women leaders from around Australia, envisioning next steps for A Safer World For All and hearing from key politicians.

At CBM we know that people with disabilities are already disadvantaged as they face barriers to fully participating in community. In their lives, the resulting devastation of crises is magnified. More than ever, strategies for A Safer World For All must include and be accessible for all people with disabilities.
