Bringing Inclusion Vibrancy to Secondary Schools

Though I graduated secondary school with the highest ATAR score in my year level, I lagged behind in building friendships with my peers.

I have cerebral palsy. Throughout my secondary school years, I struggled to keep up with my peers.  They moved around the schoolyard at a fast pace. A pace for which my electric wheelchair was no match. I struggled to get my words out fast enough to weigh in on group conversations.

Now, I run a business called Inclusion Vibrancy. Inclusion Vibrancy is born out of my passion to champion inclusive communities in which every person can thrive. Every person is a unique contribution to their community, having unique skills, talents, perspectives and personalities.

People with disabilities often face barriers to fully participating in their communities. Teenagers with disabilities are often left behind unintentionally.

That was my experience, now I run workshops to equip teenagers to include their peers with disabilities. In my workshops I share my personal experience as a teenager at secondary school. I give students the practical tools and knowledge needed to build disability-inclusive communities. Celebrating the value of every person and their inclusion underpin my workshops.
